My Reusable Life

Rebecca Veksler, Solcups Founder and #SolMate
What’s your go-to reusable item?
My SoL Cup, tote and water bottle, of course! I can't leave home without them.
Your top tip for never leaving home without them?
When it comes to my water bottle, I drink A LOT through the day, so there is no way I would leave it behind. But, something like a coffee cup, I always keep one in my bag and in my car, as the "just in case I need it” cup. If you aren't as organised as me, set an alarm on your phone before you leave for work in the morning to remind you!
How do you try to be a conscious consumer?
I am a pretty minimalistic consumer in general. I don't buy things that I don't need, whether that's food, clothes or accessories. So it's just about changing your mindset to "do I really need this" and "how long will this last me?" I think that is something a lot of people struggle with, buying on impulse rather than actual purpose. Education is always key, the more we know, the better choices we can make.
The best eco tip you’ve heard?
One step at a time. Master the art of "one eco step at a time", make conscious and empowered decisions to become a more educated and conscious consumer.
Favourite eco brand?
If I can't say SoL, then I would have to say Koala Eco.

Small or big - what’s your current eco aim?
Our mission at SoL is to stop plastic production, we want to be part of the solution.
Your favourite place to buy fresh produce or package lite food?
Bondi farmers markets.
The ISO habit you aim to carry forward?
I have loved the down time. On a normal schedule, I travel a lot for work and trade shows, so this is the most amount of consecutive days I've been in one place and I've just loved the family time so much.
